24-Hr Marathon Paint Fest!

First up, is our 24-hour non-stop painting fest called Sheep-Shaped Canvas — [fb]. The premise is simple; 4 artists, 3 walls, 2 studios, and 1 huge pot of coffee… or green tea, or both. Anyway, it should be fun, and if the artists survive, we’ll do it again, sooner, rather than later! We will also he hosting talks, screenings, exhibitions and showcases, so sign up to our mailing list as there are limited spaces for booking events.

Our growing Collective of artists is keen to maintain the momentum, so watch out for our next Negative Space venture at No. 11, The Artworks: Elephant.

ART 4 MACS!

The premise is that you bring your old Apple Mac (no more than 4 years old) and trade it for one of our exclusive and original Urban Art or Contemporary paintings (usually valued at over £1,000). We can’t say fairer than that!
Plus, unlike your old Mac, the artwork offered will increase in value over time, making it a sound investment.
Why are we doing it? Because; a) Art doesn’t always have to be traded for money b) Artists need Macs too, and c) Because we’re feeling generous at this time of year!
This is a legitimate offer!
For more info, e: adee001@hotmail.com
Or just come on down this Fri 28 & Sat 29 November and satisfy your curiosity.
PLACE: Studio 19, the Artworks Elephant, Elephant Road, London SE17
TIME: 5pm—11pm

Creative Events

Sew-Craft Workshop

This was one of our first events at the Artworks, a needle craft workshop that was organised by Danny and Olga, and run by Emma. Emma did a sterling job on the creative sewing front. Taking children that were under ten and teaching them the basics whilst getting them to use their imagination to create pictures and scenes that would have made fantastic illustrations for stories.

The workshop lasted all day as half of them were so engrossed in their pieces that they didn’t want to leave, showing that one-hour art lessons are no way near enough for growing creative minds! It’s also a testament to the enthusiasm and talent of Emma and her small team of arts workers on the day. Thank you all!
